Dig Dig Digger — slot review and demo

Archaeologist in the sands of Egypt

Dig Dig Digger takes the player to the Egyptian desert alongside an eccentric archaeologist who digs in search of gold from an ancient civilisation. The slot runs on a 5×3 grid with 10 paylines and uses the popular 'book' mechanics — a type of game where expanding symbols play a key role during the bonus round.

Free spins and expanding symbols

Three or more Golden Shovel symbols on the reels trigger 10 free spins. Before the round begins, the game randomly selects one regular symbol (excluding the scatter), which becomes expanding: when enough of these symbols land, they stretch across the entire height of the reel and pay out even without adjacent positions. Free spins can be retriggered an unlimited number of times if 3+ scatters land again. The Golden Shovel also acts as a Wild and substitutes for other symbols on paylines.

Dig Dig Digger features a bonus buy function: you can purchase entry to the free spins round for a fixed price shown on the button, which changes depending on the bet. Another option is Chance x2, which increases the bet and raises the probability of entering the bonus game. These two features cannot be activated simultaneously.

RTP 94.94% and high risk

The slot's RTP is 94.94%, with high volatility. The minimum bet starts at 0.01, the maximum at 2. The highest win reaches x7500 the bet. The combination of high volatility and expanding symbols in free spins makes Dig Dig Digger a suitable option for those ready for rare but large payouts. Other BGaming slots can be compared by specifications in the catalogue.
